Tsavorite was discovered by Campbell R. Bridges (1937 – 2009), a legendary Scottish geologist.in the year 1980 he establishing the famous Scorpion Mine in the Taita-Taveta District of south-east Kenya.
Tsavorite is regarded by many gem experts to be the world’s finest green gemstone with a reputation of showing green at its best. Tsavorite is everything that a fine gemstone should be. It is remarkably brilliant due to its relatively high refraction that adds intensity to its color communication
The beautiful Taita people who live near the mines have a rich culture and are the custodians of the mines. Making majority of the miners, both men and women work in the mines for economical gain. Gem safaris with Lordstown are aimed to blend the wild gem experience.
